1 in 100 Christians who feel called into missions actually end up doing it—Mission Forward is about changing that statistic. Each year 1.2 million children are sold for sex purposes—Mission Forward is about stopping that. There are 2.74 billion people that haven't heard Jesus' name—Mission Forward is about telling them. In the past 40 years, Short-term missions has greatly expanded, while long-term missions has contracted—Mission Forward is about closing the gap.
We, Jedidiah and Kayla Olson (the founders of this project), believe the greatest needs and injustices in the world should and CAN be met by Christians. Through pairing a youth's zeal with a missionary's experience, we hope to bridge the gap between a Short-term trip and a long-term commitment. Jed and Kayla Olson are fulfilling this vision through serving Youth With a Mission in Oxford, New Zealand over the next 5 years. They head the Outreach Department where they plan DTS Outreaches—building relationships with Missionaries in over 35 countries and equipping youth to help and be inspired by them.
